yeah, you gotta exercise. i go for a few months without touching blender, and i forget half of it.

Thats not exactly a field strip lol but ist awsome none the less.

Thats so cool, to model every single part of the gun. I want to do that but never find detailed enough reference, and surely never found the original blueprints of ANY gun. I know pros like to keep thier sources secret, but any hints are appriciated :D

I know it is a bit more than your standard field strip, and the only time you would ever see the gun taken down this far would be if you just purchased all the components and were going to build it from scratch. but what is the point of modeling all those little pieces if nobody can see them :P

Actually, it wasn't that hard to find 1911 blueprints. because it is such a popular, and classic gun. i found a full set on cncguns.com

I also made a full-blown assembly animation that you would probably appreciate: [link]

No I didnt mean this render was useless! Its only natural you did it since you modelled every part! What I meant was that a field strip would also be cool ;)

The animation was outstanding! Bet you can sell that to Discovery or something! But you put it on google video, thats like giving it away.

And thanks a lot for the link! :)

it was about a year be4 i last used maya. now im on youtube looking at tutorials. im really trying to understand maya 100 percent before july when i start school at devry for gsp, im also talking about animation from whati see it can be simple, as simple as piont a to point be . a part of a model stretched from 1 cordinate to the other. just choose 2 or more cordinates and the program will go from one point from the other. i am not advance in it at all. i do not work efficiently not even with photoshop at somethings. theres alot of things i gotta learn. i am now a novice of the novices in maya. i totaly forgot everything literally. im pissed and some virus deleted the 3 things i made in the past that were prety decent models. low poly due the lack of ram in my computer, they were. on par with dreamcast and ps1 models
